Gary L. Whitmer, of Greeley passed away April 12, 2009, at Northern Colorado Medical Center. He was 67.
He was born in Clark to Russell L. and Thelma (Wallis) Whitmer. Gary served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Gary owned the Rainbow Park Ranch in Clark, where he raised cattle and hay and offered sleigh rides in the winter.
Gary loved the outdoors. He was an avid elk hunter and lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He also loved fishing and his dog, Mutley. Gary touched many lives, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Whitmer Brillard, of Greeley, and Stephanie Whitmer of Fort Collins; his 94-year-old mother, Thelma Whitmer, of Steamboat Springs; siblings Glen Whitmer, Cindy Osborne, Jackie Lutz and Diana Hillewaert; and former wife, Carolyn Whitmer.
He is preceded in death by his father.
