Steamboat Pilot - September 13, 2009

James David Edgerley, loving husband, father, grandfather and resident of Fort Collins for the past 16 years, died Sept. 4, 2009, at age 81.
Jim was born in Toronto, Canada, and lived in Colorado for the past 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; siblings Gwyn and Bill; children Andrew, David, Ron (Colleen), Aimee, Jennifer (Linda), Michael (Michelle), and Laura (Greg); as well as grandsons, Michael, Brendan, Carter, Logan and Dylan.
Jim was a graduate of University of Toronto and held an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. After retiring as the president of Trapper Mining in Craig, Jim still enjoyed spending time as a mining consultant, which allowed him to travel the world.
He served as chairman of the Colorado Mining Association and was a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, the Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute and the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry.
Jim also volunteered for the Fort Collins Senior Center. His favorite pastimes included golfing, fly fishing, skiing and watching hockey.
A memorial service was held Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A celebration of life in Jim's honor followed at Mulligan's Pub.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Fort Collins Cancer Specialists and the Poudre Valley Hospital Oncology Department.
