Angela Lea Rudd, 38, passed away at her residence in Steamboat Springs on Sept. 9, 2009.
She was born Dec. 29, 1970, in Mexico, Mo., the daughter of Dale Rudd and Barbara (White) Meador, and was adopted as an adult by Eldon and Elaine Strid.
Angela moved to Steamboat Springs in 1979 from Auxvasse, Miss. She graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 1989.
She attended the United Methodist Church in Steamboat Springs, and she worked many jobs at many places so she could live in her beloved Steamboat. She enjoyed working as a massage therapist and a retail clerk for All That Jazz. Snow skiing and the Rocky Mountain summers were her favorites.
Survivors include her adoptive parents, Eldon and Elaine (Rudd) Strid, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; biological mother, Barbara Meador, and stepfather, Glen Meador, of Jefferson City, Mo.; brother Michael Rudd, of Pullman, Wash.; nephew Andrew Ray Rudd, of Pullman, Wash.; paternal grandmother, Lorraine Strid, of Lodgepole, S.D.; maternal grandparents, Neal and Evelyn Kohler, of Harrisonville, Mo.; uncle and aunt Gene and Nora Rudd, of Alexandria, Va.; uncle and aunt Bob and Carol Burnett, of Marietta, Ga.; uncle and aunt Jack and Linda Hill, of Jacksonville, Mo.; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Rudd; paternal grandparents, Ewell and Hazel Rudd; biological maternal grandparents, Clifton and Lea White; and paternal grandfather Glenn Strid.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church in Steamboat Springs. There will be a memorial service held at Auxvasse United Methodist Church in Auxvasse, Mo., at 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Auxvasse Cemetery, Auxvasse, Mo.
