Jeffrey Tarnoff, of Steamboat Springs, died Sept. 20. A celebration will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Catamount Lake House. Jeffrey Tarnoff, 66, of Steamboat Springs and New York, NY passed away suddenly on Friday September 20 at home. A professional registered broker and investment advisor, he worked for the past 11 years at the Winchester Group in NY, NY and for the previous 18 at Oppenheimer capital, NY, NY.
He was born in New York City to Edwin and Betty Tarnoff, graduated from Milford Academy, cum laude from Lehigh University and held an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Always involved in the communities where he lived he was a board member and past board president of the Perry Mansfield Arts School and Camp, a former trustee of the Pomfret School. Pomfret, Ct, the Town School and The Brownstone Learning and Daycare Center, both in New York. He was also a member of Lehigh University’s School of Business and Economics Board of Advisors and the University of Chicago Booth School’s Business Advisory council.
He leaves his wife of 38 years, Diane Seaman Tarnoff of Steamboat, his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Todd Nelson of Ft. Collins, his mother, Betty Tarnoff of Redding, CT. his brother Peter of Osteville, MA. and his nephews Nicholas and Alexander.
A memorial service to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held on Saturday, October 5 at 2 PM at the Catamount Lake House. In lieu of flowers please feel free to make donations in Jeff’s name to either Perry Mansfield or the Healthcare Foundation for the Yampa Valley.
