Treva “Pennye” Gabbard, 83, Grand Junction, died Feb. 27,
2013, at The Commons.
Services are pending with Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Ms. Gabbard was an administrator in health care.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Bennett of Superior and
Stevan Bennett of Grand Junction; one daughter, Pamela Phillips
of Birmingham, Ala.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Treva Faye "Pennye" Gabbard
passed away at home, in the loving
arms of her family, on February,
27, 2013. She was 83.
Pennye was born November 29,
1929, in Tipton, OK to Eula and
Henry Burrows, who preceded
her in death. She's also preceded
in death by her sister, LaVada Fowler and step-mother, Cleva Burrows.
Pennye married the love of her life, Bobby N. Gabbard, in January
1976. They were married 34 years. Bobby passed away February 22,
2010. Bobby served in the Navy during the Korean War. After the
Navy he worked as a store manager for Safeway in Grand Junction.
Pennye is survived by her brother, Jon Burrows of Temple, TX;
daughter, Pamela (Chris) Phillips of Birmingham, AL; son, Stevan
(Nancy) Bennett of Grand Junction, CO; son, Michael (Carole)
Bennett of Superior, CO; six grandchildren, Steven (Amanda) Phillips
of Lewisville, TX; Russell (Flavia) Phillips of Tampa, FL; Jack
(Patricia) Phillips of Birmingham, AL; Tiffany (Dane) Siess Grand
Junction, CO; Tabitha (Jon) Toms of Grand Junction, CO; Matthew
Bennett of Superior, CO, and two great-grandchildren, Kinzie Siess
and Katelyn Toms both of Grand Junction, CO.
In addition to being a loving mother, Pennye loved her work as an
office administrator for Dr. Copeland. She was very proud of the
fact that Dr. Copeland, having learned of her exemplary skills,
sought her out and hired her over the phone.
A burial service for Bobby and Pennye will be held on Friday April
12th, 2013, 3:00 p.m. at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 2830 Riverside
Parkway, Grand Junction, CO, followed by a celebration of life
with friends and family at Pantuso's Ristorante, 755 Horizon Dr ,
Grand Junction.
