Mary V. Gallegos passed away
peacefully on March 1, 2013,
following a lengthy illness, with
her family by her side.
She was born in Appleton, CO
to Louis and Lola Trujillo. She
was the tenth of 14 children.
Mary married George Soifakis.
They had one son. This marriage
ended in divorce. In 1947, she
married Sam Gallegos. This union
produced six children. Together
they raised seven children and a
grandson.
Mom was a wonderful, loving
homemaker. She enjoyed collecting
owls, bingo, word puzzles
and babysitting. Her treasures in
life were her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons ,
George (Linda) Soifakis, Sam
(Denise) Gallegos and Eugene
Gallegos; two daughters, Carmen Fox and Theresa (Dan) Coca; ten
grandchildren, Mark Gallegos, Christina DeVries, Rigo Soifakis,
Rochelle Gisner, Sam Coca, Jenni Gallegos, Marie Pentelute, Des -
tini Lease, Valey Gallegos and Sean Cavanagh, and numerous
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and
three sisters. She was preceded in death by her husbandof 54 years,
Sam; a son, Valey Gallegos; a daughter, Christina Cavanagh; her
parents, and eight brothers.
A Rosary will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Callahan-Edfast
Mortuary and services will follow.

Mary V. Gallegos, 86, Grand Junction, died March 1, 2013, at
her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Private burial will take place at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of
Western Colorado.
Ms. Gallegos was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, George Soifakis of Houlton, Wis.,
Sam Gallegos of Bellingham, Wash., and Eugene Gallegos of
Palisade; two daughters, Carmen Fox of Englewood and Theresa
Coca of Grand Junction; two brothers, Filbert Trujillo of Hacienda
Heights, Calif. and Mellow Trujillo of Victorville, Calif.; three sisters,
Maggie Jones of Denver, Cleo Gonzales of Gillette, Wyo., and
Margaret Daugherty of Grand Junction; 10 grandchildren; and numerous
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
