Winona June (Kitson) McAlister passed away Sept. 25 at her home in Pryor, Okla.

She was 64.

June was born Feb. 3, 1934 in Colbran, Colo. to Robert and Sylvia Kitson. She attended Colbran Union High School and eventually moved to Eagle where she raised and sent her children to school. June later moved to Lamar and had a career as a Colorado State Patrol Dispatcher for several years.

Then June moved to Pryor, Okla. with her husband Gale. She opened her own ceramic shop and with her wonderful love for creating beautiful art, she won several state competitions.

She also loved gardening, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all that life had to offer. She even took the time to learn about the computer world.

She was known to look at life as a great challenge and to live it to the fullest.

She is survived by her husband, Gale [McAlister], six children, Loney and Randy Walk of Grand Junction, Michael Walck of Rifle, Roxie Garcia of Kansas, Roy Walck of Florida and Tammy Kassler of Okla.; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Gardens in Grand Junction.
