Alma Evelyn Rogers passed
away peacefully Sunday, March
24, 2013, in Grand Junction,
Colorado.
She was born on June 28, 1926,
in Alamosa, Colorado to Clyde
C a r l B a r r o n a n d R a c h e l M c -
Donald Barron. She is survived
by her son, Alan of Grand Junction;
daughter, Elizabeth of Boulder,
and grandchildren, Jared
Rogers, Carsyn Rogers and Kristen
Toll.
She graduated from Alamosa
High School in 1944 and moved
with her family to Long Beach,
California. It was in Long Beach
that Evelyn met and married the
love of her life, Harry Ray Rogers.
She raised their two children,
Alan and Beth in Lynwood, California.
In 1970, desiring to sim -
plify their lives, they relocated
their family to Grand Junction, Colorado. Evelyn enjoyed her children,
grandchildren and deeply cared for all of her extended family.
Evelyn joined Redlands United Methodist Church in 1974 and par -
ticipated in many different groups within the church. She enjoyed
her faith, gardening, sewing and crafting. Her deepest joy was her
relationships with friends and family.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her mother; her father; her husband
of 52 years, Harry Ray Rogers; her beloved brother, Frank
Barron; her dear sister-in-law, Marguerite Barron, and her sister,
Wanda Barron Cornish.
Evelyn spent the last two years of her life recuperating from an illness
in the home of her son, Alan, beloved daughter-in-law, Sandra
and their family. She was loved and comforted by being surrounded
by family.
Evelyn was the cornerstone of her family. Her love, support and
sense of humor will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
You are invited to join her family in a memorial service on Monday,
April 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Redlands United Methodist Church,
527 Village Way, Grand Junction CO 81507.
In lieu of flowers, please give a donation to the UMW of Redlands
United Methodist Church - an organization that Evelyn dedicated
many years to and was very dear to her.

Alma Evelyn Rogers, 86, Grand Junction, died March 24, 2013,
at her home.
Services are pending with Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Survivors include one son, Alan C. of Grand Junction, one
daughter, Beth Rogers of Erie; and three grandchildren.
