Ronald “Ron” A. Carrillo, 55, Grand Junction, died April 10,
2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary,
followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at 11
a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Military honors will
follow at New Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita.
Mr. Carrillo was a retired U.S. Air Force sergeant.
Survivors include his wife, Perly; two sons, Rickjohn Salaver of
Grand Junction and Angelo S. Carrillo of Grand Junction; and one
sister, Christina Provence of Ogden, Utah.

Dawn brought a new beginning for “Ron” Ronald A. Carrillo, who returned to his parents on
April 10, 2013. We will miss his sense of humor and love - he was outgoing and embraced many
cultures. Ron was born to Roland and Maria Carrillo on March 2, 1958, in Inglewood, California.
He married his "gwapa na asawa" (beautiful wife), Perly Salaver on October 22, 1998 in the
Philippines. They have two sons, RickJohn and Angelo. Ron has one sister, Christina (David)
Provence and nephews, Cole and James. He was raised in Ogden, UT and graduated with a
Bachelor’s Degree. He served in the Utah Air National Guard. He was a veteran of the first
Gulf War and served in the NATO peacekeeping mission in Bosnia. Ron retired from the Air
Force as a historian where he received several top awards. As a child, Ron had a fascination
for airplanes and took flying lessons when he joined the Civil Air Patrol. Having developed a
fascination for history and firearms, he spent five years writing the book, "Bren Ten: The Heir
Apparent".
A viewing will take place on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary from 5-7:00 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be on Monday, April 15, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Grand Jct.
