Norma went home to be with
God and family April 12th. She
was surrounded by family and a
very special St. Mary's hospital
staff, at the age of 85 just shy of
her 86th birthday.
She was born in Provo, Utah the
only child of Frederick and Vera
(Snow) Nelson. She was raised in
Lynwood, CA, where she met and
married Charles "Duane" Ewing.
They owned a family business
until retirement and after Duane's
passing in 2002, she lived in
Hemet, CA, and then moved to
DeBeque, CO about seven years
ago.
Her ashes will be scattered in her
favorite place, Hawaii. She was
an exceptional cook, accountant,
but especially mother, grandmother, great and
great-great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by husband, Duane; sons, Michael and
Dale Ewing, and daughter, Karen (Ewing) Nelson.
She is survived by a daughter, Cherrie (Jerry) Berry of DeBeque;
1 3 g r a n d c h i l d r e n , 1 8 g r e a t - g r a n d c h i l d r e n a n d t h r e e
great-great-grandchildren, with one more great and one more
great-great both due in September.
We wish to thank the amazing staff of St. Mary's Hospital, Chaplains,
and Hospice and Palliative Care and the Legacy Funeral Home
for their caring assistance during this difficult time.
