Janet Ida Sparks, 81, Grand Junction, died April 14, 2013, at
Eagle Ridge Nursing Home. Services are pending with Martin Mortuary.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; one son, Jim Catlett of Grand
Junction; one daughter, Tamara Catlett of Grand Junction; three
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Janet Sparks of Grand Junction,
CO, passed away at Eagle Ridge
of Grand Valley on Sunday, April
14, 2013. She was 81 years old.
Janet was born in Baltimore,
MD on March 3, 1932, to Ralph
and Margaret Garrison, and was
the younger of two daughters. She
met the love of her life, Bo b
Sparks, at a dance in 1972, and
within a few months, they were
married. They made their home in
New Jersey and raised a son, Jim,
whom later moved to Colorado.
Janet and Bob also uprooted to
Colorado in 2001 to be closer to
her son and his wife, and especially
the grandkids.
Janet loved her family, old westerns,
The Philadelphia Eagles,
and was an avid salt and pepper
shaker collector. She was proud to
have over 700 pairs. She was fond
of the Mormon Church and enjoyed visits with its members. She
enjoyed reading and playing games, particularly rummy and cross -
word puzzles. She had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor.
Janet, wife, ma, and grandma, will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bob; her son and
daughter-in-law, Jim and Tamara Catlett of Grand Junction; three
granddaughters, Brenna Wright, Jami Coren, and Tori Catlett; and
four great-grandchildren, all of Grand Junction.
A private family service was held.
