Joyce went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, April
14, 2013, at her home in Grand Junction, surrounded by loved ones.
Joyce was born on April 10, 1941, in Bogata, Texas to Clinton and
Odell Gray. She remembered her childhood on the farm as idyllic
and carefree. Her favorite pastimes were riding her bicycle, catching
frogs in the pond, and going to church on Sundays.
Following high school, she moved to Lubbock, Texas, with the
dream of being an executive secretary. There she met Roy Cotton ,
married, and had three children. Mom's greatest achievement was
raising her kids. She approached this calling like everything else in
life, with optimism, love, and a sprinkling of fun. Joyce and R oy
achieved their dream when they moved their family to Grand Junction
in 1971. There she worked at Beckner-Power Insurance.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Roy Cotton; children, Terry
Cotton and wife, Dawnna of Port Orchard, Washington; Traci Major
and husband, Tom of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Craig Cotton
of Montrose, Colorado, and brother, Alvis Gray of Texas. She was
blessed with six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her family thanks the numerous caregivers that allowed Joyce to
be at home in her last years as she battled M.S.
Memorial contributions may be made to Harden and Alpine Hospice.
We rejoice that she is now with the Lord in Heaven!
