ARCHIE CALHOUN BURIED IN NEW CASTLE.
Funeral services for Archie V. CALHOUN were held at Burdge's Garden Chapel in Glenwood Dec. 6, and interment was in New Castle.
Born Sept. 28, 1882 in Silverton, Mr. CALHOUN was married to Miss Grace B. KNOWLES in Telluride, on Dec. 25, 1907. He homesteaded near Cortez and farmed in various Western Colorado communities.
Following his wife's death, he operated a small truck line from Gypsum, then lived in retirement in Gypsum for a number of years.
In recent years he had been in failing health and made his home with his daughters in Sacramento, Calif., and in Englewood, Colo.
Mr. CALHOUN had been in Pine Haven Nursing Home in Denver, for the two months prior to his death, Dec. 3.
He is survived by three daughters: Margaret KARPEN, Lakewood; Lois REYNOLDS, Englewood; Lorraine CRITCHLOW, Sacramento; two sons: A. Craig CALHOUN, Denver; Con I. CALHOUN, Grand Junction; one sister, Gentle ZOLLENGER, Tennessee; one brother, Alf KERMODE, Los Angeles; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
