Lorraine V. Williams (Arcieri),
91, Grand Junction, died
March 16, 2013, at her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m.
Thursday at Immuculate Heart
of Mary Catholic Church. Burial
will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery
on Orchard Mesa.
Ms. Williams was a surgery
aide.
Survivors include her son,
Gary Williams Sr. of Grand
Junction; one daughter, Tina
Williams of Grand Junction; five
grandchildren; and nine greatchildren.

Lorraine passed away March 16,
2013 at 12:18 a.m.
She was born on July 22, 1921,
in Grand Junction, Colorado at
the old St. Mary’s Hospital where
she would later in life work at
in-surgery. She was a graduate of
Grand Junction High School,
class of 1939. She also attended
Mesa State College.
Lorraine met the love of her life,
Bill Williams, at a baseball gam e
at Lincoln Park in 1945 and they
married January 6, 1956, at her
father, James Arcieri’s, home.
Bill preceded her in death on
September 3, 2000.
Lorraine enjoyed gardening,
yard sales, golfing, and working
in the family peony orchard. She
was an All State Bowler, and All
State Softball Player. The Yankees
and the Rockies were her favorite teams. She loved to have big
dinners with everyone over. She also loved to decorate for every
holiday.
She was a member of the American Cancer Society, Elks, Ladies
Auxiliary of Immaculate Heart of Mary and volunteered at Mesa
Manor for almost 30 years.
Lorraine leaves behind her son, Gary E. (Linda) Williams, and her
daughter, Tina (Larry) Williams, both of Grand Junction, CO; five
grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincenzo James and
Rosa Arcieri; seven brothers, and two sisters. Lorraine is the last of
the “original” Arcieri’s.
Her passing was made much easier by her special granddaughter ,
Alicia Romero and her husband, Roland, who she lived with for the
last 16 months of her life.
A viewing will take place at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary on
Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 5 - 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary at
7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass to be held Thursday, March 21, 2013, at
11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will follow
at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to
her husband.
A celebration of life will be held at 564 Shoshone St., Grand Junction,
Colorado, 81504 following the burial. Please bring your memories
