JAMES BRENNAN, 76, DIES DURING VACATION IN VAIL.
James Edward BRENNAN Sr. of Kennett Square, Pa., died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday while visiting his family in Vail.
Son of the late James and Mildred BRENNAN of Danbury, Conn., BRENNAN, as he was known as Jim to friends and family, graduated from Danbury High School in 1945 and from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., in 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946 and did a year of graduate studies at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
BRENNAN worked for the DuPont Company for more than 35 years, starting his career in New Hersey as a chemist in the explosives department. He then held various managerial positions in manufacturing and human relations in Charlestown, Ind., Parlin, N. J., Rocherster, N. Y., Towanda, Pa. and Harrisburg, Pa.
In 1978, BRENNAN was transferred to Wilmington, Del., where he served as a human resources manager in the imaging and electronics businesses. Before retiring in 1991, BRENNAN served as human relations consultant for the electronic business.
An avid sports fan, friends and family members said, BRENNAN enjoyed golfing and watching basketball. He and his wife, Eileen, spent time traveling to Naples, Fla., Stone Harbor, N.J. and Denver, as well as visiting his children and grandchildren. He was also a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Hockessin, Del.
He was a generous and loving father, family members said.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen; his brother, Martin J. BRENNAN, and his wife, Rosemary, of Cheshire, Conn.' his sister-in-law, Fayne DANIELS and her husband, Ross, of Pawling, N.Y.; his sons, James E. BRENNAN Jr. and his wife, Laurie, of Castle Rock, and David S. BRENNAN and his wife, Lori, of Ellicot City, Md.; his daughters, Barbara A. TURNER, and her husband, Gary, of Kennett Square, Pa., Dana B. VAS NUNES and her husband, Greg, of Hong Kong; and seven grandchildren: Daniel, Caitlin, Christopher, Shannon, Casey, James and Michael.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Vail Chapel. A memorial will be held in Delaware at a late date.
