Norma I. Schade died Friday, March 22, 2013, at the Hospice Care
Center in Grand Junction, CO. Norma was born in Indianapolis, IN
on July 26, 1925, to Earl and Thelma Voss. Norma was raised by
her beloved grandparents, James and Agnes Ball.
In 1943 she graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis
and in 1944 she married her high school sweetheart Richard M.
Pratt in Montgomery, AL. Norma and Rick lived in Alabama and in
Florida until the end of the war and then moved back to Indianapolis
where they raised their three children. Norma was a dedicated
wife and mother. She lived to travel and saved money from her
household budget each year so that her family could go on vacation
during the summer. In 1980, Rick sold his business and they retired
following their three children to Colorado to live. Norma was widowed
in 1981.
In 1983 she married Kermit Schade in Grand Junction, CO. They
lived in Grand Junction and later in Vernal, UT where Kerm
worked. In 1987 Kerm retired and they moved to Green Valley, AZ
where they lived until moving back to Grand Junction in 2001.
Norma and Kerm had many happy years traveling around the
United States. They also visited Europe and Asia. She was a mem -
ber a PEO and First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Kermit; her sons, Stephen R. (Peg)
Pratt of Rapid City, SD; Jeffrey R. (Judy) Pratt of San Diego, CA;
her daughter, Pamela M. (Allen) Baumgartle of Grand Junction, and
her step-daughter, Carol Goodman of Nashville, TN. She is also
survived by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church
on Monday March 25, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception following.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist
Church, or First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Grand
Junction.

Norma Irene Schade, 87, Grand Junction, died March 22,
2013, at Hospice Care Center.
Services are pending with Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Survivors include her husband, Kermit C.; two sons, Stephen
R. Pratt of Rapid City, S.D. and Jeffrey R. Pratt of San Diego; one
daughter, Pamela M. Baumgartle of Grand Junction; five grandchildren;
and nine great-grandchildren.
