Martha May Brewer
May 25, 1914 – April 23, 2013
Our beloved mother, grandmother,
and great-grandmother
passed away peacefully wit h
family at her side in Fallbrook,
California, where she had resided
for the past 15 years.
Martha May Newby was born in
Kansas City, Missouri. She was
raised in Winter Park, Florida,
and graduated from high school in
1932. She attended and graduated from Rollins College in Orlando,
Florida with a degree in Sociology in 1936.
Martha worked as a social worker in New York and Utah. She married
Louis J. Brewer, a mining engineer, in 1940. They lived in Peru,
Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and then permanently settled in
Grand Junction with the uranium boom.
Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Louis, and son, J ohn.
She is survived by daughters, Susan Blue of Colorado Springs, a nd
Nancy (Kevin) Croswell of Fallbrook. She is survived by seven
grandchildren, Louis and Byron Brewer of Colorado; Iain and Jos h
Morris of Hawaii and Alaska, and Kimberly (Joey), Katherine
(Conor), and Kristine (Joel) of California, and four great-grandchildren,
Shanae and Larimee of Colorado, and River and Jameson of
California.
A memorial service with family will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday,
September 26th, 2013 at Orchard Mesa Cemetery, Grand Junction,
Colorado.

Calif., died April 23, 2013, in
Fallbrook.
Services are planned at a later date.
Ms. Brewer was a nurse’s aide.
Survivors include two daughters,
Nancy Croswell of Fallbrook, Calif.,
and Susan Blue of Colorado Springs;
seven grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.
