George E. Gonzales, 89,
Grand Junction, died April 26,
2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8
p.m. Tuesday at Callahan-Edfast
Mortuary. Services will be
at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Living
Stone Church, 2971 North Ave.
Interment will follow at Orchard
Mesa Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Addie;
two sons, Jerry and Jess,
both of Grand Junction; two
daughters, Doris Guajardo and
Dorothy Velarde, both of Grand
Junction; eight grandchildren
and 13 great-grandchildren.

George E. Gonzales transitioned
into the presence of the Lord,
April 26, 2013, after a brief illness.
He was 89.
George was born May 15, 1923,
in Questa, NM, where he spent
his childhood and married Adelires
“Addie” Montoya, the love
of his life for 67 years.
He is survived by his wife and
two sons, Jerry Gonzales (Raquel), and Jess Gonzales; two daugh -
ters, Doris Guajardo (Joe), and Dorothy Velarde (Vance); eight
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of Grand Junction.
George worked as a painter and hand lettered many trucks and
signs in the valley. He worked for School District 51 as a painter of
signs and murals. He loved fishing with his family; showing his
children and grandchildren the art of fishing. The greatest legacy he
leaves the family is his example of trusting and acknowledging God
in all his ways and experiencing God directing his path. We greatly
miss you Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Great-Grandpa and
Friend! We will see you soon!
Visitation/viewing will be Tuesday, April 30, at Callahan-Edfast
Mortuary from 6 - 8:00 p.m. A celebration of life memorial service
will be held at Living Stone Christian Center, 2971 North Avenue,
at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013.
