Edwin Henry Dussor Jr., 91, Collbran, died June 1, 2013, at
his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie; three sons, Ted of Grand
Junction, Matt Horton of Fullerton, Calif., and Travis Horton of
Parachute; two daughters, Diane Jarret of Mesquite, Nev., Lorn
Fuller of Enterprise, Ala.; two brothers, Henry Dussor of Covington,
La.; one sister, Joan Ellison of Metairie, La.; six grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph’s Building
Fund, 230 N. Third St., Grand Junction 81501, or Roice-Hurst Humane
Society, P.O. Box 4040, Grand Junction 81502.

Edwin Henry Dussor was born
January 9, 1922, in New Orleans,
LA to Lillian L. Schwankart Dussor
and Edwin H. Dussor, Sr. He
was the eldest of eight children.
He enlisted in the Navy after
Pearl Harbor, and saw action in
WWII, Korea, and the early days
of Viet Nam.
In 1948, he married Evelyn M.
Seacrest. He retired after serving our country for 20 years, and the
family moved to Grand Junction. After Evelyn’s death, he married
Valerie Horton, and after a stay in Louisiana, they moved to Collbran.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus,
USS Guadalupe Reunion Association, American Legion
Post #86 Plateau Valley, and the Plateau Valley Association.
Eddie was a joyful, caring person who loved his family, country,
sports, and life in general. In his 91 years, he touched many lives
and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn, and daughter,
Donna Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Valerie; son, Ted S.
(Victoria) Dussor; daughter, Diane (Dick) Jarrett; step-children,
Lorn (Phil) Fuller; Matt Horton, and Travis (Renee) Horton; numerous
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at St. Joseph’s Church on June 8th at 11:00 a.m.,
with interment at the Grand Junction Veterans Cemetery on June
13th at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Ed requested donations to St. Joseph’s Church
Building Fund or to Roice-Hurst Humane Society.
