Karen Marie VanHoy, age 56, of Grand Junction, passed away on
May 29, 2013.
She was born to the late Frank J. and Charlotte (Bachman) Sneith
on September 5, 1956. Karen attended elementary, junior high, and
high school in the Denver area, before attending Colorado State
University. She recently graduated from Colorado Mesa University
and was an active member of the Republican Women of Mesa
County. She attended church at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic
Church.
Family and friends were Karen's passion and delight. She grew up
spending holidays, summers and vacations with her family. She
loved to host and entertain and frequently had parties at her house.
She loved to take trips both near and far. These trips gave her many
lifelong memories. Karen loved to partake in adventures of all kinds
and had a knack of making the most average thing into a humerous
story. She loved nature and enjoyed being outdoors.
Karen is survived by her brothers, Larry (Chris) and Gary (Cheri)
Sneith; her sister, Wendy McGuire; her son, Brando (Louise);
nieces, Dawn, Britt (Matt) and Tabitha; nephews, Lonny, Travis
(Brittany), Cory, and Taylor, as well as grandsons, Jonathon and
Samuel. She also had grandnieces and grandnephews, Alyssa
(Zach), Amanda, Ashley, Alexandria, Zachary, Cody, Brady, Carter
and Asher. She also had two great-grandnieces, Zoey and Abby.
Karen requested a small celebration of life ceremony that will take
place on Thursday, June 6, at 2:00 p.m. Celebration of Life service
arrangements will be provided by Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
