Regina A DeCecco, 90, of Plattsburg, MO died Sunday, Dec 29, 2013 at Oakridge Nursing Home in Plattsburg, MO. She was born on Oct 14, 1923 in the mining town of Monarch, WY to John & Elnora (Sobotka) Turon. The family relocated to Oak Creek CO, and that would be “home” to Regina. In her teens, she moved to Gothenburg NE, and she would always consider that her “second home”.
She served in the Army during WWII as an ex-ray tech on the East Coast, and then in Chicago. Following her service in Chicago, she met and married John P. DeCecco, who preceded her in death in 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Paul, Joe, George; and sister, Rose.
Surviving family members are her son John V. and wife Jane DeCecco of Lathrop, MO; grandson Patrick DeCecco also of Lathrop; and sister, Mary Maynarich of Oakcreek, CO.
Regina enjoyed her new friends at Oakridge in Plattsburg and loved the staff and considered them extended family.
