William Richard Green
February 14, 1925 - January 7, 2014
William Richard “Dick” Green, age 88, of Delta, Colorado passed
away January 7, 2014, at San Juan Living Center in Montrose.
Dick was born February 14, 1925, to Deyoe and Frances (Pearson)
Green in Rifle, Colorado. He served his country in the United States
Marine Corp, and was a veteran of both WWII and Korean War,
serving from 1944 to 1946 and reenlisted in 1951 and was honorably
discharged in 1952 as a Corporal. Dick wanted to make the military his
career, but then thought of how much he enjoyed riding his horse and
ranching. As for things he enjoyed it was riding around on his horse
the outdoors and seeing new country, which he did for many years
following.
Dick is survived by his wife, Carol Green; an older sister, Elizabeth
Terrell; a younger sister, Lillian Hill; sister-in-law, Lora Green; son,
Bill (Julie) Green; grandchildren, Yvonne (Eric) Moore, Jackylynn,
Michael, Daniel, and Crystal; daughter, Tome Green, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
We will celebrate his life as he did…casually, in the spring, when the
grass is green! A celebration of Dick’s life will be announced at a later
date. He has taken his place of rest at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery
of Western Colorado in Grand Junction, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the V.A.
Community Outpatient Clinic, in memory of Dick Green, 4 Hillcrest
Plaza Way, Montrose, Colorado 81401.
Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home &
Crematory, Montrose, Colorado.
