2013, at his home.

Mr. Henderson was a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Rogers Henderson; two sons,
James R. of Grand Junction and Danny L. of Phoenix; two daughters,
Deborah J. Henderson of Grand Junction and Patricia J. Grant
of Fruita; two brothers, Walter Henderson of Grand Junction and
Veryl Henderson of Honolulu; two sisters, Dorothy McCarthy of
Waurika, Okla., and Darlene Kaneshiro of Honolulu; three grandchildren;
and one great-grandchild.

James “Jim” Edwin Henderson
passed away at his home in Grand
Junction, Colorado, on August 9,
2013. He was born on October 11,
1934, in Collbran, Colorado, to
Lonnie F. “Bill” Henderson and
Laura Roberts Henderson. He
graduated from Central High
School.
Jim married Patricia M. Rogers of Grand Junction, Colorado, on
July 5, 1953. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, and his four
children, Deborah Henderson of Grand Junction; Patricia Grant
(Ray) of Fruita; James Henderson of Grand Junction, and Danny
Henderson (Cindy) of Phoenix, Arizona. He was also the proud
grandfather of Brooke Henderson, Justin Grant (Chambry), and
Bryce Grant, and great-grandfather of Jason Henderson.
Jim is also survived by his four siblings, Dorthy McCarthy, Walter
Henderson, Veryl Henderson, and Darlene Kaneshiro. He was preceded
in death by his parents.
Jim spent most of his working years as an oil distributor operator
and truck driver. As an oil distributor operator, of the many roads he
paved the most memorable were the roads into Arches National
Park, Mesa Verde, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, and across Grand
Mesa. Jim also owned and operated North Avenue Recap for many
years. He retired from driving for City Market after 19 years, and
was especially proud of receiving his "Safe Driver One Million
Miles" before his retirement. After retirement, he ventured into a
new business and was co-owner of the Cake Cottage with his
daughter.
A family viewing was held at Callahan-Edfast on August 12, 2013.
