Darrel Watson, 82, Delta, died Aug. 13, 2013, at his home. Services
will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 17 at Taylor Funeral Services Chapel
in Delta.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma; three sons, Mike of Linden,
Calif., Curt of Austin and David of Delta; one brother, Dean of Riverton,
Wyo.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Longtime Delta resident, Darrel
Watson, passed away at his home
on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. He
was 82 years old.
A memorial service to honor and
celebrate Darrel's life will be held
at 10:00 a.m., Saturday August
17, 2013, at the Taylor Funeral
Service Chapel in Delta.
Darrel G. Watson was born to
Glen F. and Reta G. (Cool) Watson on April 7, 1931, in Upton,
Wyoming. He spent his early childhood in New Castle, Wyoming,
graduating Cedaredge High School with the class of 1948.
Following high school, Darrel honorably served his country with
the United States Coast Guard in Baltimore, Maryland.
On March 18, 1951, Darrel married the love of his life, Wilma M.
Holder, in Eckert, Colorado. The newlyweds moved to Delta in
1957, where they would raise their three sons. Darrel and Wilma had
the honor of sharing their 62nd wedding anniversary this year.
Darrel, a retired steel worker, enjoyed traveling, watching s ports
and spending time with his grandchildren. Darrel was a member of
the Delta Presbyterian Church; Delta Elks Lodge and J. C.'s.
Darrel is survived by his wife, Wilma Watson of Delta; his sons,
Mike Watson of Linden, CA; Curt (Jo) Watson of Austin, CO, and
David (Ronda) Watson of Delta, CO; his brother, Dean (Darlene)
Watson of Riverton, WY; eight grandchildren, Brandee (Mike)
Ballou, Daniel (Brandon) Garner, Derek Watson, Garret (Hayley)
Watson, Todd Watson, Travis Watson, Tyler Watson, and Austin
Watson, and one great-grandchild, Alayna Watson. He was preceded
in death by his parents.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Darrel's
memory to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2232 North 7th
Street, Suite 14, Grand Junction, CO 81501, or to Hope West Hos -
pice, P.O. Box 24, Delta, Colorado 81416.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral
Service and Crematory.
