The family of Bill McKelvie would like to share the sad news that
our beloved Bill passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2013. Living
in Ottawa, Canada, Bill was at the peak of his game.
Bill was born in Collbran, Colorado. He obtained his doctorate
from West Virginia University and taught psychology at Bowie
State University and Union Institute in Cincinnati in addition to his
private psychotherapy practice in Maryland. He retired from Union
Institute as the Dean, Office of New Programs, Planning and Development.
Bill leaves behind in Chelsea, Canada his soul mate, Astrid Pregel;
beloved step-daughter, Maya Oka-Pregel, and ball throwing buddy,
Miko.
In Colorado, Bill leaves behind his most beloved sister, Beverly
and her husband, Fred Fox, and son, George, daughter Sarah and
husband, Mike Kelly; son, Mark McKelvie; former daughter-in-law,
Kathleen Brown; his niece, Tracy and husband, Drew Handy and
their children, Dalton and Madison; his nephew, Clark Wasson and
wife, Donna and their children, Adam and Zachary, and in Wiscon -
sin, son, Tony Kober and daughter-in-law, Jenny and children, A.J.,
Katie, and Kelly. In Eugene, Oregon he leaves behind daughter, Lisa
Del Alba.
The apples of his eye are his grandchildren, Russell Hanson, Mary,
Michelle, Mason, and Mathew Strehl, Christine and Florin Del Alba,
and Regan and Madeline McKelvie.
Bill's ashes will be buried at the Collbran Cemetary on September
8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Collbran Cemetery followed by a gathering
to celebrate his life for family, friends and neighbors to take place
on September 8th, 2013, at Noon at the Collbran Congregational
Church in Collbran.
We cannot imagine a kinder, gentler, more loving being. Go in
peace and know that we follow.
