Long time Fruita and Grand Junction resident, Helen Eileen
Morris, age 87, passed away peacefully Friday August 30, 2013.
She was born February 23, 1926, to Walter and Catherine "Katy"
Hill in Hugo, CO. She moved to Edwards, CO as a small child
where she grew up and was a 1944 graduate from Eagle County
High School in Gypsum, CO. She married Carl L. Bush in the
same year and was later divorced. She married Russell T. Morris in
1957, in Alberta, Canada and they moved to Fruita in the early 1960's.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her
brother ,Bill Hill. She is survived by her brother, Jack Hill; her
three children, Donna Lewis, Bill Bush (Kathy), and John Morris
(Liz); six beloved grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and devoted
friend and dance partner, Tom Tapia.
Eileen was a homemaker and entrepreneur. She was a regular on
the yard sale circuit - so much so that at the repeated suggestions by
her family, she opened a second hand store in the 1980's called the
Poor Folks Second Hand Store located in Fruita. Later in life, she
loved to go dancing, often hitting the senior dances three to four
times a week.
A viewing will be held Thursday September 5th, 2013, from 6 -
8:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary in Grand Junction, CO. Services will
be held Friday September 6th, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary
followed by a graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita,
CO.
Eileen never believed in wearing black to a funeral, so feel free to
wear something other than black to the services.

Helen Eileen Morris, 87, Fruita, died Aug. 30, 2013, at The Willows
in Fruita.
Services are at 2 p.m. today at Martin’s Mortuary with burial to
follow at New Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Bush and John Morris; one
daughter, Donna Lewis; one brother, Jack Hill; six grandchildren;
and eight great-grandchildren.
