Esther L. Revelle, 98, Grand Junction, died Aug. 24, 2013, at La
Villa Grande Care Center. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at
Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Callahan-
Edfast Mortuary followed by interment at Grand Junction
Memorial Gardens and a reception at Taste of Heaven Catering,
2817 North Ave.
Ms. Revelle is survived by two sons, Glen G. of Stuart, Neb., and
Kyle of Clifton; two daughters, Rhodora Satterfield of Grand Junction
and Erma E. Hickman of Hood River, Ore.; one brother, Wesley
J. Sample of Beloit, Kan.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren;
and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Esther L. Revelle, age 98, passed
away peacefully in her sleep on
August 24, 2013.
She was born to to Virgil and
Flossie Sample on January 21,
1915, at Jewell County, Kansas.
She married Kenneth B. Revelle
at Mankato, Kansas on May 17,
1935.
They farmed in the DeBeque
and Fruita areas until Esther moved to Grand Junction following the
death of her husband in 1971.
She worked as a cook for School District 51, retiring at age 70.
Following her retirement, she served as a volunteer at Mesa County
Library until age 90.
Esther enjoyed spending time with her family as well as cooking,
sewing, knitting, reading and calligraphy.
Preceding her in death were her husband; parents, and nine siblings.
Surviving are her children, Rhodora Satterfield, Grand Junction;
Kyle (Bonita) Revelle, Clifton; Glen (MaryLyn) Revelle, Stuart,
NE, and Erma (Leonard) Hickman, Hood River, OR; one brother;
eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren,
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. The viewing will be
Thursday, August 29 from 5 - 7:00 p.m. Memorial services will at
on Friday, August 30 at 11:00 a.m., followed by internment at Memorial
Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made to Hope West or Mesa County
Library.
