Funeral Services Held for William E. Harris, Well Known Engineer.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Stewart Chapel for William Edward Harris, well known engineer. The Rev. H. C. Alley of the Methodist church officiated. Pallbearers were Earl Roberts, E. H. Nemier, Charlie Wilson, Paul Ingledew, Mr. Thompson and Roy Johnson. Burial was made at Fairview cemetery.
William Edward Harris was born Jan. 28, 1893, at Birmingham, Ala., the oldest son of Clare and William Edward Harris. He was married April 9, 1910, to Lillian Frances Williams, who preceded him in death july 23, 1936. Two children were born to this union, both of whom survive. They are Mrs. Ruth Bledsoe and William Edward, Jr. Two brothers, Charles Lee and Joseph Wheeler of Long Beach, Calif., and two grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Harris had been a resident of Salida since 1922 and was employed on the D. & R. G. W. railroad. He died Sunday morning at the D. & R. G. W. hospital after a short illness. Mr. Harris was one of the best known railroad men and was well liked by fellow employes.
