2014, at Mantey Heights.
Services are pending with Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Survivors include two sons, Everett L. Morris of Phoenix and
Edwin Morris of Grand Junction; one sister, Betty Hegelheimer of
Walnut Creek, Calif.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

July 28, 1916 - February 12, 2014
Edith Lucille Morrison, 98, went to her heavenly home on February 12, 2014, at Mantey Heights Care Center.
Edith was born on July 28, 1916, to Ancil B. and Gertrude (nee Beitel) King at New Raymer, Colorado.
The family intially lived in a sod house there, later moving toa more substantial home in Holly, Colorado, where she grew up. She graduated salutatorian from Holly High School in 1934.
On December 25, 1935, she married Everett L. “Bake” Morris in Holly. They moved to Rifle, Colorado, where they owned a bakery/cafe and real estate service, and were active in their community for many years. Everett died in 1970.
On July 27, 1972, she married Joseph Randall Morrison of Rifle.
They resided in San Mateo, California for three years, moving to Grand Junction upon Joe’s retirement from the railroad. There she indulged her hobbies of growing flowers, sewing, punch embroidery and cooking, and simply being a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. She loved everyone, friend, neighbor and family alike.
Joe passed away in 2002.
She is survived by her younger sister, Betty Hegelheimer of California; two sons, Everett Lyndon Morris and Edwin Lee (Susan) Morris; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A brother, Leroy “Son” King, is deceased.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 18, at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary at 10:30 a.m., with inurnment to follow at Rifle Cemetery.
