Walter Byron Head, 49, Hotchkiss, died Sept. 9, 2013, at his
home.
A viewing will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Taylor Funeral
Service in Delta. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Taylor Funeral
Service Chapel in Delta, followed by burial at Garden of Memories
Cemetery in Crawford.
Survivors include two sons, David of Mount Ayr, Iowa, and Nathan
of Blackton, Iowa; one daughter, Nikki Baker of Eagleville,
Mo.; his parents, Larry and Ruth of Hotchkiss; two brothers, Wayne
of Delta and Lorin of Springfield, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at
11:00 a.m., Friday, September 13,
2013, at Taylor Funeral Service
Chapel in Delta, Colorado. Interment
will follow at Garden of
Memories Cemetery in Crawford,
Colorado. A viewing will be held from 4 -6:00 p.m., Thursday,
September 12, 2013, at Taylor Funeral Service in Delta, Colorado.
Byron was born on December 28, 1963, to Larry and Ruth Head at
Craig, Colorado.
Byron attended schools in Montrose, Clifton, Fruita and graduated
from Palisade High School in 1983. He attended DIT in Denver,
Colorado and graduated as a certified Auto and Diesel Mechanic. He
apprenticed at Rider Trucking Co., working on the big 18 wheelers
which he was very proud of.
While he was at DIT, Byron had the first of many symptoms of
Multiple Sclerosis and that began Byron's 30 year battle with it.
In 1988, Byron married Jennifer Jo Taylor in Clifton, Colorado. To
that union three children came, David, Nathan and Nikki. This marriage
ended in divorce.
Byron is survived by his children, David (Cari) Head of Mount
Ayr, Iowa; Nathan (Nikki) Head of Blackton, Iowa, and Nikki (Ja -
son) Baker of Eagleville, Missouri; parents, Larry and Ruth Head of
Hotchkiss, Colorado; two brothers, Wayne (Jamie) Head of Delta,
Colorado, and Lorin (Lytia) Head of Springfield, Missouri; three
grandchildren, Cheyenne and Montana Baker and Hunter Head; nine
nephews and nieces, Daniel, Levi and Matt Head; Anika, Janae,
Zoey, Zack, Benjamin and William Head.
The family suggests memorial contributions to be made in Byron's
memory to the Colorado-Wyoming Multiple Sclerosis Chapter,
Western Slope Office, 521 Rood Suite B, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral
Service and Crematory.
