Lillian Lucille Mason
May 14, 1918 - February 20, 2014
Lillian Lucille Mason, age 95,
went home to be with her Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ, on February
20, 2014.
Lillian was born May 14, 1918,
to Ed and Bertha Mayfield in a
homesteaded farm near Clarksville,
Arkansas. On May 1, 1938,
she married her love and soulmate,
Mack E. Mason. After marriage they moved to Montrose, Colorado, remaining there until 1958, and then they moved on to Brinkley, Arkansas.
As faithful servants to God, Lillian and Mack spent their lives
sharing their Christian faith, working with young people, and building their treasures in Heaven. In the mid-1970’s Lillian and Mack moved to Longmont, Colorado. In 1991, after 53 years of marriage, her husband and soulmate passed on. In 1996, she moved to Grand Junction, to be
closer to her son and family.
Lillian was an inspiration to her family and friends. Daily she read the Bible and wrote in her journal. She loved reading, cooking, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her friends and family. Always having
time, and a smile, for all those she knew, Lillian had a wonderful life. Material things were of little value to her, as she gave generously to missionaries, her friends, and her family. She always made time for others.
Lillian L. Mason was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Bertha Mayfield; her husband, Mack Mason; one sister, Lorene Nesbitt; one son, Bobby Mack Mason; two grandsons, John Mack Mason and Scott E. Mason, and one granddaughter, Kathy Mason.
She is survived by three sisters, Alice Reeves, Doris Reeves, and Delores Rives, all of Clarskville, Arkansas; son and daughter-in-law, Hal and Susan Mason of Grand Junction, Colorado; daughter-in-law, Norma McDonald of Anchorage, Alaska; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Lillian will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Grand Junction Funeral Home, 1022 Grand Ave., Grand Junction, Colorado, 81501. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m., this Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at the Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont, Colorado.
