Rosemary “June” Kasten, 81, Grand Junction, died Feb. 23,
2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Services are pending with Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Ms. Kasten was an environmental technician in health care.
Survivors include two sons, Keith of Grand Junction and Kenny
of Delta; two daughters, Vicki Newman of Grand Junction and
Karen Kasten-Shipp of Florida; nine grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren.

Rosemary Kasten
July 6, 1932 - February 23, 2014
Rosemary (June) Kasten was
born on July 6, 1932, to her loving
parents, Dale J. and Florence G.
(Medenhall) Syphers in Chesterhill,
Ohio.
Rosemary joined the Airforce in
1951, and met the love of her life,
Lester “Lee” V. Kasten. They were
married on April 11, 1952, and had
four children. Rosemary and Lee
stayed in the Airforce until 1971, at which time they moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. She worked at St.Mary’s Hospital and retired after 30 years of service. Her passions in life were cooking for her family and her love for the Lord.
She is survived by her four children, Victoria Newman (Joey) of
Grand Junction; Kenneth Kasten (Sharon) of Delta; Keith Kasten (Linda) of Grand Junction, and Karen Kasten Shipp (Michael) of DeLand, FL; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee and will join him in his final resting place in Loveland, Colorado. No services are planned. An open house will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014, from 2 - 4:00 p.m. at 2951 Four Leaf Circle. The family welcomes anyone who would like to stop by and share their memories of Rosemary.
