Richard Neil Bohlender passed away, August 12, 2013, in Grand Junction CO. He was 80 Raised in Kiowa CO, Dick (or Neil as family referred to him) joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1951. After 5 years of active duty and 3 years in the reserves, he received an Honorable Discharge as a Aviation Electronics Technician - First Class.
In 1969 he married Patricia, in San Francisco CA. Together, t hey experienced many years, full of exciting adventures & lived lif e to its fullest. Not having children of their own, they celebrated Dick's children Jan, John Richard, Mary lee, and Vicki Kay along with his grandchildren- Mitchell, Ryan, Nicholas, Monica, Melanie and Danny, enjoying visits and camping as well as hunting and fishing together.
Dick was a member of the IUEC (International Union of Elevator Constructors) since 1958. After 34 years of service, he retired from Otis Elevators, in 1995 .
A devoted husband with an endless sense of humor , acceptance of others and inability to sit still, he started his own marine mo tor repair shop, after retiring.
