Frank Bietz
July 27, 1927 - October 4, 2013
Frank Bietz was born July 27, 1927 in Clinton, MO to Melvin and Mary Denning. Both parents died in 1936, leaving three children.
Frank lived with his Uncle, Emil Bietz in Indiana while attending high school. He graduated in 1945 and moved to Lincoln, NE.
In 1946 he joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and advanced thru the ranks from Private to Sergeant. Frank attended school in
Virginia, WA, DC. and Carlisle Barracks, PA. Frank and his first wife, Jayne, were stationed in Germany from 1949 to 1952. In 1959 they adopted a son, Greg.
In 1953 Frank attended the Art Center in Pasadena, CA, specializing in photography. Frank was married to his second wife, Jackie, for 28 years before she passed away. In 1993 Frank married Betty Kirkeby and they were married for 10 years before she passed away.
Frank worked at Gene Taylor's Sporting Goods for 30 years. He held many positions while employed, but primarily in the camera department.
Frank was a member of The Seventh-Day Adventist church, belonged to The Sons of Norway, and the Orchard Mesa Lion's Club.
Frank was on the first honor guard flight to Washington, DC, and was involved in the Health Fair each year.
Frank is survived by his son, Greg Kaz; sister, Flora Maye
Dealy; brother, Alan Bietz; step-daughter, Karen Kenner, and their families.
Services will be held at Callahan Edfast, October 18, 2013 at
1 p.m. followed by internment at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Orch ard Mesa Lion's Club.
