Phyllis J. Choate passed away on
A u g u s t 2 3 , 2 0 1 3 , a t M e d i c a l
Center of the Rockies.
She was born April 18, 1942, in
Clyde, Kansas to Almos and June
Dockins.
Phyllis married the love of her
life, Ronnie Choate, in 1971, in
Denver, Colorado. They moved to
Texas, where they lived in many
different cities until moving to Grand Junction, CO in 1979. In
1995, they moved to Fort Collins to be near their children, where
they lived their remaining days.
Phyllis was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed
tole painting, crocheting and going to garage sales. Her life
with Ronnie took her many places but she always enjoyed being
able to be a stay at home mom, saying that was the most important
job.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, and her
sister, Sherry Dockins.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Danette (Brian) Hastings; Heidi
(Wade) Cox, and Rene Unrein, all of Colorado, and her son, Ross
(Margo) of Wyoming; grandchildren, Baker, Wendy, Alex, Alyssa,
Paula, Caelin, Marc, Dylan and Zachary; siblings, Larry (Carolyn)
Dockins of WY; Warren (Kathy) Dockins of Utah; Jeanine Cheesebrew
of Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday at Resthaven Funeral
Home. Interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the
Diabetes Foundation in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S.
Hwy. 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
