Daniel “Danny” Burns, 68, Grand Junction, died Oct. 25, 2013,
at his home. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at
Callahan-Edfast Mortuary Chapel. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday
at Redlands Community Center with interment following at Glade
Park Cemetery.
Mr. Burns worked in mine reclamation.

Daniel “Danny” Lloyd Burns
July 16, 1945 – October 25, 2013
Dan Burns died of natural causes on October 25, 2013, at his home on Orchard Mesa in Grand Junction.
Danny was born July 16, 1945, to Jess and Betty Burns. He was a veteran of the US Navy Seabees and served in Vietnam. He also served for several years with the Mesa County Sheriff's Posse.
Danny worked in mining and construction as a young man. He did a lot of cowboying in many areas of the western states, and later lived and worked on his Tularosa ranch for several decades. He was employed by the Stoller Corperation at the Department of Energy from which he recently retired. He was also active in the real estate business. Dan enjoyed team roping, and was a well-respected member of roping communities in Colorado and Arizona. He was an outgoing gentleman cowboy with many friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Betty Burns, and two siblings, Jody Burns and Johnnie Wilson. He is survived by his loving partner, Amy Pink, and his four grown children, Dee-Deyon Kirkhart (Sarah) of Phoenix, AZ; Jodie Wunderwald(Lew) of Grand Junction; Scott Burns (Kitty) of Paonia, CO; Kennita Danielle Moore (Carl) of Longmont, CO, and siblings, David Burns (Mary), and Lisa Burns, both of Grand Junction. Dan was the grandfather of nine grandchildren whom he adored and was a well-loved uncle with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Callahan-Edfast Thursday, October 31, 4 -7:00 p.m. An open house Memorial Service will take place at Redlands Community Center Friday, November 1, 11:00 a.m., with graveside service following at Glade Park Cemetery.
