Lourdes A. Melgares, 87, Grand Junction, died April 30, 2014,
at her home.
Services are planned at a later date in Alamosa.
She was a seamstress.
Survivors include her husband, Julian; two sons, Michael of
Grand Junction and Robert R. of Clifton; two daughters, Patricia
Atencio of Algodones, N.M., and JoAnn Melgares of Albuquerque,
N.M.; one brother, Frank Trujillo of Pueblo; 10 grandchildren; and
11 great-grandchildren.

Lourdes A. Melgares passed away
April 30, 2014, at her Grand Junction
home with her loving family
by her side. She was 87.
Lourdes was born on February
15, 1927, in Capulin, Colorado
from the union of Rogerio and Climaca
Trujillo. She married Julian
Melgares in 1946, in Alamosa,
Colorado, he survives.
Lourdes was a seamstress and former owner/operator of Campus One
Hour Cleaners of Grand Junction. She was a resident of Grand Junction
for 40 years and previously lived in Sterling, Colorado. She was of the
Catholic faith and enjoyed sewing, playing bingo and cooking for her
family.
Lourdes leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Julian Melgares of
Grand Junction, Colorado; two sons, Michael (Tammy) Melgares of
Grand Junction, CO, and Robert (Bonnie) Melgares of Clifton, CO;
two daughters, Patricia (Carl) Atencio of Algodones, New Mexico, and
JoAnn Melgares of Albuquerque of New Mexico; brother, Frank Trujillo
of Pueblo, CO, ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Private family services will take place in Alamosa, CO at a later date.
