Sarah Alberta Scott, age 93, died April 15, 2014, in Montrose, and formerly of Grand Junction, CO.
Sarah was born June 22, 1920 to Lewis and Ellen (Stanford) Barboe in Souix City, IA. She spent her childhood in Council Bluffs, IA, and graduated from High School in Des Moines, IA. Sarah married James O. Scott on October 12, 1945, in Colorado Springs, CO, and they had also resided in Denver and Grand Junction, CO. James had preceded Sarah in death in 1977.
Sarah was a member of The Moose Chapter 1073, in Grand Junction, and a member of VFW Auxillary in Golden, Colorado.
Surviving family members include her children, Raymond D. Scott of Centennial, CO; David J. Scott of Ridgway, CO; Jay; O. Scott of Montclair, CA; Barbara Ann Jameson; brother, John Clint Barboe of Grand Junction, CO; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and two brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at The Moose Lodge, 567 25 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO, with Pastor Don Dillon officiating. An interment service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
