Lifelong Palisade resident Virginia
Weaver, passed away on Monday,
May 12, 2014, at Palisade
Living Center, at the age of 99.
Adria ‘Virginia’ Weaver was born
to parents, Milton McManaway
and Ethel Reed-McManaway in
Lake Park, Iowa, on November 18,
1914. She was married twice in
her life. She married Floyd Gallatin
in 1936, he preceded her in death in 1957, and she married Jack
Weaver in 1968, he preceded her in death in 1991. She is also preceded
in death by her parents; her sisters, Laura, Jesse, and Ardis; daughter,
Laura Denton; granddaughter, Gina Lane, as well as other family members
and friends.
She is survived by daughters, Flora Hayes-Rubalcaba of Grand Junction,
Colorado, and Alice Bennett of Tigard, Oregon; seven granddaughters,
Deanne Molenkamp, Denise Milojevic, Kim Coleman,
Cynthia Correll, Catherine vonKoche, Deborah Hatch, and Renada
Henson; three grandsons, Bryan Layton, David Puckett, and Michael
Puckett; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren;
two nieces; two nephews, and other family members and
friends.
She was an enthusiastic rock-hound, bridge-player, audio-book and
church-radio listener. She was a very generous person who loved her
family very much. If she knew someone was coming over she would
cook up a quick cake or a quick meal; “stay for supper,” she’d always
say.
She shall lie in state all of Thursday, May 15, 2014, at the Palisade Funeral
Home. A formal visitation is planned to commence at 6:00 p.m.
until 8:00 p.m. that day. Funeral services are planned to commence at
Friday, May 16, 10:00 a.m. in the Palisade Funeral Home. Interment
shall follow at the Palisade Cemetery. Fellowship is to follow at the
Palisade Living Center.
Services are entrusted to Palisade Funeral Home.

Virginia Weaver, 99, Clifton, died May 12, 2014, at Palisade Living
Center.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at Palisade Funeral Home. A service
is 10 a.m. Friday at Palisade Funeral Home. Interment follows
at Palisade Cemetery, with fellowship after that at Palisade Living
Center.
Ms. Weaver was a peach farmer.
Survivors include two daughters, Flora Hayes-Rubalcaba of
Grand Junction and Alice Bennett of Tigard, Oregon; 10 grandchildren;
13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
