Robert D. “Bob” Tenney, 92, Grand Junction, died June 27,
2014, at HopeWest.
A service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Interment and concluding services will follow at New Elmwood Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Bob Tenney, Jr. of Grand Junction; two daughters, Dori Jensen of Aurora and Chris Johnson of Berthoud; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Robert Tenney passed away June 27th, very peacefully, at HopeWest Hospice Center. He was 92 years old. Robert was born in Dempster, SD. He spent his childhood years on a farm near South Shore, SD.
He served in the Navy during World War II, aboard the light cruiser, USS Vincennes (CL-64).
While deployed in the South Pacific he served as a radio operator. After the war, he met Doris Nelson in Chicago and they were married June 19, 1948. While living in Chicago they had a daughter, Dori. Then they moved to St Cloud, MN, and had another daughter, Christine. After that they moved to Sacramento, CA and had a son, Robert Jr. They moved to Ogden, UT, where Robert worked for the FAA at Hill Air Force base. They finally ended up in Grand Junction, CO, in 1967, to live for the next 47 years. Robert retired from the FAA as an electronic radar technician in 1982.
Robert loved to go on road trips and explore old ghost towns. He also enjoyed fishing, watching JUCO baseball games, and outings with his family.
Robert was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Gideons Internationl, and Sons of Norway.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Annette Tenney, who died on March 4, 1992.
He is greatly loved by his surviving children, son, Robert; daughter, Dori Jensen (Dennis); and daughter, Christine Johnson (Bill). He is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Wednesday July 2nd, 10:00 a.m., at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
