Piper Lee Reign Slawson-Borgards
went from the arms of her
family into the loving arms of Jesus
on May 14, 2014, at the home
of great-grandmother, Karen Vondette.
Piper was born to Katy L. Slawson
and Jake A. Borgards on April
21, 2014, in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Piper spent some of her short life at Children’s Hospital in Aurora,
Colorado surrounded by amazing doctors, incredible nurses, staff and
loved ones. Piper’s first big adventure was coming over the passes from
Denver to spend her last days in Rifle. Upon arrival, Pastor BJ Worthen
anointed her with oil and dedicated her to the Lord. This precious gift
from God spent her time in Rifle creating a lifetime of memories for
the loved ones that surrounded her 24 hours a day. She had a pony ride
and party at the home of Mike and Lindsey Johnson, picnics, ATV
rides, playgrounds, manicures, potlucks and a very special birthday
with cousin Rikki Sours. She stole the hearts of all who met her and
buckets were filled with tears. She was worth every tear that was shed.
An angel in the Book of Life wrote down my baby’s birth. And whispered
as she closed the book, “Too beautiful for earth.” -

Piper is survived by her parents, Katy and Jake of Parachute; brother,
Kayleb Borgards of Grand Junction; grandparents, Kelly and Mark
Slawson of Rangely; Pam and Jeff Dartt of Parachute and Bill Borgards
of Rancho Cucamonga, California; her great-grandmother, Karen Vondette
of Rifle; uncle, Kent Slawson; aunt, Jess Lay, and numerous
great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.

House in Aurora, Colorado.
