William “Bill” Lloyd Nimon passed away Dec. 20, 2014 in Pueblo.

Bill was born June 14, 1923 in Eagle to George and Wilhelmina “Minnie”(Schrupp) Nimon.

Bill graduated from Eagle High School in 1940. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy 1944-1946 and after the military he started his career with Mountain Bell in 1947 retiring in 1982 after 35 years.

On Sept. 5, 1948 in Montrose he married the love of his life Bernadean“Bernie” Phillips, whom he has cherised and loved for 66 years. Bill is survived by his wife and three children, Stan (Linda) Nimon of Colorado Springs; Dee Ott of Aurora; and Randy Nimon of Pueblo. He also is survived by four grandchildren Brenda, James, Jennifer, Aimee and two step-grandchildren Jennifer and Jeffrey. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Dorothy Hostetter, Gertrude Gloshen and Georgia Filter and two brothers James Nimon and Wayne Nimon.

He loved playing golf with his friends. Bill volunteered with the Telephone Pioneers, Colorado Trail, Cumbres TolTec and Scenic Railroad. Bill and Bernie loved to travel. They enjoyed numerous Elderhostel trips, as well as trips around the world and many adventures with his brothers and sisters.

A celebration of life will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan.16 at Imperial Funeral Home. Private burial at McCoy Cemetery in McCoy on Memorial Day.
