Sherrill A. Dodd, nee Gardner,
passed away unexpectedly
in Grand Junction on May 24th,
2014.
She was born on January 15,
1938, to Ivan and Frances Gardner
in Appleton, CO. She married Jasper
A. Dodd on June 10th, 1956,
at Clifton Christian Church in
Clifton, CO. Sherrill spent her early
marriage being a homemaker and raising their four sons. Although
raising her family was her lifelong passion she also took great pride
in the 38 years she spent driving a school bus for District 51 students.
In 2005, she received the Driver of the Year award from the Colorado
State Pupil Transportation Association. Sherrill was a member of Grace
Baptist Church where she played piano, taught in the youth ministries
program and participated in the puppet theater within the church. Her
faith was of utmost importance to her.
Sherrill is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jasper of Clifton;
four sons, Richard (Julie) of Palisade; Jesse (Anne) of Grand Junction;
Charlie (Donna) of Clifton, and Fred (Jacki) of Oak Park, CA. She also
is survived by 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Stanley
(Charlene) Gardner of Pueblo, CO; sister-in-law, Virginia Flager of
Grand Junction, CO; one nephew and one grandnephew. Sherrill was
preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter; a great-grandson,
and a niece.
A graveside service will be held at the Palisade Municipal Cemetery,
3529 Front Street, Palisade, CO at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29,
2014.

Sherrill A. Dodd, 76, Grand Junction, died May 24, 2014.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Palisade Municipal Cemetery.
Ms. Dodd was a bus driver who received the Colorado Bus Driver
of the Year award in 2005.
She is survived by her husband, Jasper; four sons, Richard of
Palisade, Jesse of Grand Junction, Charlie of Clifton, and Fred of
Oak Park, California; one brother, Stanley Gardner of Pueblo; 12
grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
