Kathryn “Kay” Heald, 88, Grand Junction, died June 6, 2014,
at HopeWest Hospice.
Services will be at 10 a.m. July 26 at Grand Junction Memorial
Gardens Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Steven of Denver and Michael of
Grand Rapids, Michigan; a daughter, Karen of Davis, California;
five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Kathryn “Kay” Stanton Heald
was born April 6, 1925, in Gloversville,
NY to Gardiner and
Nellie Hillabrandt Stanton. She
passed away on June 6, 2014, in
Grand Junction, CO.
Kay graduated from Gloversville
High School and attended
Muskingum College, graduating
in 1948. She moved west and accepted a position as a social caseworker
in Delta, CO. There she met and married Earl B. Heald.
Kay and Earl moved to Palisade where he served as pastor of the Palisade
Christian Church for 12 years. They had three children, Steven,
Karen and Michael Heald; five grandchildren, and one great-grandson,
all who survive.
When her children were older, Kay worked as the medical and general
librarian at the Veteran’s Hospital and she also served as the librarian
at Central High School. She finished her work career as the manager at
IBC Church Supplies, where she worked for 17 years.
Kay and Earl traveled extensively, seeing many places in the world.
Her hobbies included bowling and gardening, especially her roses. Kay
loved to play the piano and sing, and she frequently performed at her
church. Kay also volunteered for Reach for Recovery and as a librarian
at the Veteran’s Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to HopeWest Hospice,
Boise Bible College or the charity of your choice.
A graveside service will be held at Memorial Gardens on Saturday,
July 26, 2014, at 10:00 a.m.
