Russell Clifton Scott
March 3, 1929 - May 6, 2014
Russell Clifton Scott, 85, of San Marcos, California died peacefully at his home, on May 6, 2014, with family, his wife Elfreda, and faithful dog, Oogie at his bedside.
He was a loving husband and proud father, and a believer in the Lord, Jesus Christ. Russell was born March 3, 1929, in Norwood, Massachusetts to Clifton S. Scott and Nancy A. (Dorr) Scott Sanford, now deceased.
Russell and Elfreda were married on January 2, 1954, in London, England. They celebrated their 60 year Anniversary this past January.
Retired after 30 years in the United States Air Force, Russell often talked about working on the KC97 airplane. He was proud of his service to his country, serving during the Korean War, and Vietnam War.
Russell and Elfreda retired in Mesa County, Colorado and later moved to Yuma, Arizona. He was an avid bowler who, until 2013, bowled on a league with his wife. When he wasn’t bowling, he was either building or creating a new item for their home or in his yard growing vegetables.
He was a sports enthusiast, who especially enjoyed watching NSCAR and NFL football. He will be missed by all who loved him.
Russell is survived by his wife, Elfreda and four children and their spouses, Helen Ann O’Donnell; Frances Marie Scott; Robert Joseph Scott, and Elizabeth Jean Johnson, and eight grandchildren, Jason, Christine, Brie, Rishona, Bethany, Andrew (Scott) and Trevor, and five great-grandchildren.
Interment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado with full Air Force Honors on June 13, 2014, with a family celebration of Russell’s life to follow.
