Dan M. Jackson

December 24, 1948 ~ February 11, 2015

Dan Michael Jackson age 66 of Vernal Utah passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. He was born in Craig, Colorado to Lavon and Barge Jackson.
Dan lived in Colorado for 30 years; then he met Jerol Dean, who later became his wife, and moved to Vernal. He was a ranch hand in Willow Creek for many years. That canyon always had a special place in his heart.
One of Dan’s passions in life was working with wood. He worked at two different sawmills, and also at the Dry Fork Saddletree for many years. His family will always treasure the boxes and furniture he made for them. He also worked in the Oil Field Industry, primarily on the drilling and exploration side. In his later years he enjoyed drawing and became quite an artist.
He loved the outdoors and camping. He collected several sheep camps, canvas tents, and kerosene lamps. Dan also had a special place in his heart for riding horses. He spent many hours riding in the mountains and Nine Mile Canyon with his father-in law Don.
Dan is survived by his wife Jerol Dean Jackson; children T.C. (Liz) Rich; Robert Jackson; Matt Jackson; Rachelle Jackson all of Vernal; and Jenny (Hans) Peterson of Woodland California. His Grandchildren, Shandell Rich, Austin Rich, Steven Rich, Jesse Peterson, & Melissa Peterson. Mother-in-law, Carol Rich. And many brother and sister-in laws, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased in death by his Mother and Father Lavon and Barge. Brothers: Jim, Donnie, Bobby and five sisters. Also, his best friend and Father-in-law, Don Rich.
A viewing was held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Ashley Funeral Home. The family plans on having a graveside service in Craig, Colorado at a later date. Interment will be at the Craig Cemetery.
