Alan McDavid Simpson, 94, Grand Junction, died July 1, 2014,
at Hospice Care Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
Mr. Simpson was a mining engineer and World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; three sons, Doss M. and David A.
of Denver, and Tracy Pederson of Grand Junction; two daughters,
Alana Simpson Popoff of Hawaii and Christi Pederson-Simpson of
Hewett, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Alan McDavid Simpson passed
away in Grand Junction on July 1,
2014.
He was born on Glade Park,
Grand Junction, CO, on February
19, 1920, to Benjamin Simpson
and Mary McDavid Simpson. He
died peacefully at HopeWest Hospice
Care Center in Grand Junction.
Alan married Dorothy Bulla in 1950. They had three children, Doss
McDavid Simpson (Sarah); David Alan Simpson (Kyle), and Alana
Popoff (Victor). Following Dorothy’s early death in 1980, Alan met
and married Linda Pederson. Linda had two young children, Tracy
Pederson (Melanie), and Christi Sampson (Kevin). Alan is survived by
his wife, Linda; five children; 15 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Alan was the last surviving child of six children.
Alan and Linda were married 32 years, and enjoyed spending time
with family and their many friends. They also enjoyed golfing, fishing,
gardening, and international travel.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the City of Grand Junction
Cemetery, 2620 Legacy Way (Orchard Mesa) on July 8, 2014, at
10:00 a.m. A private ceremony to honor Alan’s life will follow.
In lieu of flowers it is suggested that donations be made in Alan’s
name to HopeWest.
