Ilda Katherine Anderson, 90, Grand Junction, died July 3, 2014, at HopeWest Care Center.A service is 1 p.m. Thursday at Martin Mortuary.Survivors include one son, Donald of Silt; three daughters, Wil-ma Heely of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Betty Silzell of Mesa and Nancy Mohrman of Grand Junction; one brother, Joe; two sisters, Lois and Amy; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.Memorial contributions may be made to HopeWest, 3090B N. 12th St., Grand Junction 81506 or the Clifton Christian Church.

Ilda Katherine (Phillips) Anderson was born to Thomas Hartley and
Katherine (Pitts) Phillips on January 4th, 1924, in Plateau City, CO.
She was the third of six children; Thomas, Amy, Joe, Lois, and Johnny.
She is preceded in death by Tom and Johnny.
Ilda married William Howard Anderson on September 19th, 1942, and
moved to the family ranch in Collbran, CO. There she raised and was
a loving mother to a family of four; Wilma (Ross) Heely of El Dorado,
MO; Betty (Jack) Silzell of Mesa, CO; Donald (Diana) Anderson of
Silt, CO, and Nancy (Lee) Mohrman of Grand Junction, CO.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and hobbies included crossword
puzzles, playing cards, playing the piano, sewing, tatting, crocheting,
knitting, reading, fishing, gardening, and spending time with
her family.
Upon Howard’s death in February of 1998, Ilda moved to Grand Junction,
CO. She became an active member of Clifton Christian Church
volunteering in their food and clothing program and attending NTO
and her bible study group. Along with her four children, Ilda was very
proud of and greatly enjoyed her 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren,
and soon to be ten great-great-grandchildren. She will be greatly
missed and always remembered for her sacrifices and her strength by
her family.
A memorial service is planned for Thursday, July 10th, 2014, at 1:00
p.m. at Martin Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to HopeWest Hospice or
Clifton Christian Church.
