Dorothea “Dee” Hatcher, 88, Grand Junction, died July 30,
2014, at Mantey Heights Rehabilitation and Care Center.
No formal service will be held. A private inurnment will be at
Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Frey of Colorado Springs and Paul Frey of Grand Junction; two daughters, Deanna Frey of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Linda Marsh of Golden; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Dorothea “Dee” Hatcher
June 26, 1926 - July 30, 2014
Dorothea was born June 26, 1926, to Paul and Cecil Martens in Denver, Colorado. She died July 30, 2014, at Mantey Heights Rehabilitation & Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado after succumbing to Alzheimer’s.
Dee was raised in Denver, Colorado and graduated from North High School class 1944. Through out her life she worked as a bookkeeper.
She was married to Robert Frank Frey from 1951 to 1972. She married Lloyd Hatcher in 1972. She and Lloyd moved to Grand Junction in 1981, and started a Private Security Company, which they operated until Lloyd’s death in 1995. She was a life long active member of ESA and was involved with the Shiner’s through her husband Lloyd. Dee loved to dance, roller skate, bowl and travel with friends. She always had cats for companionship.
She is survived by four children, James Frey, Colorado Springs; Deanna Frey, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Paul (Marie) Frey, Grand Junction, and Linda (Steve) Marsh, Golden, CO; five grandchildren, Tim, Jeff, Mark, Brian and Erin and four great-grandchildren, Nathan, Ericka, Elisia and Emilia.
There will be no memorial services. Memorial contributions can be made to HopeWest Hospice or The Alzheimer’s Association.
