RV Parker
July 3, 1931 - August 5, 2014
RV Parker passed away at his home in Loveland, Colorado on August 5, 2014.
He was born on July 3, 1931, to Jewell Simpson in Darwin, Oklahoma.
After relocating to Morenci, AZ, he met the love of his life, Barbara Stacey, whom he married on July 11, 1952.
RV and Barbara raised two children, Jim and Karen. After serving in the Air Force at Nellis AFB in
Las Vegas and working in the Morenci copper mines, the family moved to Clifton, Colorado in 1960.
RV enjoyed raising livestock on their acreage. He was especially proud of the accomplishment of riding the Colorado Continental Divide.
In addition to horseback riding, he was an avid fisherman and
seldom went on any trip without his fishing pole. He enjoyed sharing his archery skills with his grandkids. After retiring as a HVAC worker,
RV and Barbara took many trips including a long road trip across the USA and one to Australia.
In 2011, they moved to Loveland, Colorado to be closer to their son and his family. Dad always took care of his wife and family and found it difficult to let go and let us take care of him. We are comforted by the knowledge that the Lord is now taking care of him.
RV is survived by his son, James C. Parker (Bonnie); granddaughters, Valerie Leitner, Jennifer Wehde (Mark), and Jill Parker; grandson, Dustyn Parker (Heidi); great-granddaughters, Amanda Rhoadarmer and Jordyn Wehde; great-grandsons, Kyle Leitner, Joshua Rhoadarmer, Mark Wehde Jr., and Riley Parker. His wife, Barbara Parker; daughter, Karen Parker Lee, and mother, Jewell Simpson welcomed him with open arms and a fishing pole upon his arrival in Heaven.
A graveside service will be held at the Palisade Cemetery on August 15, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. Go to www.viegutfuneralhome.com for condolences.
